Our quest to live a pretty much sustainable lifestyle, one that also makes the Earth a lot more livable and beneficial, depends on the way we make use of her resources.
Here are a few ways to do that; to achieve an eco-friendlier lifestyle where our kids and their kids could benefit from in the years to come.
RECYCLE.
We’ve known about recycling for decades and to this day, many people still encourage this for everyone to do. Though there are plenty of us already doing this, in some countries, recycling is still not a priority. Buying products that are contained in recyclable materials or returnable materials is a start. You help reduce waste if you continue to support and do this this. Community centers will help encourage the practice if only bins are also provided for. Start small to tap and grow bigger. It’s just not a matter of educating people to recycle; one has to provide avenues for this to be taken into action.
AVOIDING BOTTLED WATER.
While it’s true that bottled water keeps our system fresh and free of impurities, accumulation is the main problem with bottled water. It’s made of plastic, and thus will not degrade for centuries. And you know what that means — it is bad for the earth. There are companies, however, that make use of recycled water bottles or those made from stainless steel that break down better. So choose those instead, if you really have to buy bottled waters.
GIVE UP CATALOGUES AND BILLS.
You get this in the mail all the time and what happens to it after sifting through piles and piles of bills and magazines? You accumulate tons of waste in the backyard… waste that actually have to be processed using trees. Think of all trees you can save if you choose to go paperless. Bills can be paid online, for one thing. And you can check catalogue contents online as well so you may as well give up those.
